Know Before You Go: Mexico Outlaws Vaping!

February 10, 2026

Mexico now has a nationwide ban on vaping devices. The new law went into effect on January 17th and can easily trip up unknowing tourists carting their vape supplies with them on vacation.

The ban is being actively enforced and violation can lead to some pretty severe consequences: confiscation, steep fines up to $12,500, and as much as 8 years in prison! Even if your vaping device was fully legally purchased elsewhere and is only intended for your personal use, the law still applies.

If you travel to Mexico, you will be subject to enforcement when going through customs. Even if you're just stepping foot on land for a day trip while on a cruise, you'll want to be sure to leave your e-cigarette safely onboard.

If you're planning to travel, check out our blog post on the U.S. airports that still offer vaping sections inside the terminal. And don't forget to pack some lozenges or pouches to get you through your flight!

Safe travels and happy vaping!
